Stakeholder Engagement

One way I would engage the community is through business partnerships. I’d connect with local businesses to bring in guest speakers, set up job shadowing, or support career days. This helps students see what’s possible for their future and builds a bridge between school and the real world.

I would also create a school counseling advisory council made up of parents, teachers, and community members. This group would help guide the program and give feedback so it stays relevant. It creates shared ownership and helps make sure student needs are truly being heard.

Another strategy is incorporating service-learning projects. Giving students opportunities to serve—like food drives or volunteering—helps them build empathy and leadership. It also strengthens their connection to the community in a meaningful way.

I’d also host family and community events, like parent nights or college and career workshops. These create space for connection, provide helpful resources, and make families feel more involved and supported.

Lastly, I would partner with local mental health agencies to support students beyond the school. Having those connections makes it easier to refer families to services when needed and ensures students have access to the support they deserve.
